Cleaning a fridge

Refrigerator is the basic device in the kitchen and the main element of home appliances. So begin with it.

First of all, let’s say that the you need every day to keep fridge clean. For this purpose:

  • do not put the dirty dishes in the shelves;
  • wipe the occasional drop of fat and liquids;
  • immediately and ruthlessly dispose all products in which you are unsure.

The cleaning process is simple:

  1. Unplug the refrigerator from the network to defrost it. Defrosting process is carried out once every few months and is required for any model.
  2. Remove all products and place them to a cool place, so they do not have time to go bad for a while, when you wash and clean the shelves.
  3. Remove all shelves, racks and containers. They need to be washed separately and properly dried.
  4. The next step is to wash the inside of the fridge. Use a solution of baking soda and water.
  5. Do not forget to wash all surfaces outside, removing fingerprints, dust and accidental splashes. It will be correct if you will use a vacuum cleaner to clean a rear wall and the space under the fridge.
  6. The final stage will need to wipe all the sponge with clean water and then dry with a soft cloth.

What can be used?

Don’t use abrasive materials. Also it is not necessary to use inside a washing gels and other liquids that have a strong odor, crammed with flavors. If the contamination is strong, it is best to soak it and then rub the place with a soft sponge.

Add vinegar to warm water – it will help to get rid of the smell. Vinegar will also help to clean and disinfect all. In this way, it will be quite efficient to wash a new device. The best mean, as we already mentioned, is soda dissolved in warm water. One large spoon poured into a liter of warm water and mix well. Don’t use powders because they are badly washed out and can get to the food. Do not apply bleach or other caustic substances, as they may adversely affect the plastic and rubber parts.

Dont forget to maintain your fridge. Read about it in our recent post about how to troubleshoot a refrigerator.

Cleaning a washing machine

There are different ways of cleaning a washing machine, and the most popular and effective is using lemon acid. This is probably the most effective way, removes scale from the washing machine. To clean it with citric acid, you do not need anything except the citric acid in an amount of 100-200 grams.

Water usage of the washing machine

Put the acid into the washing compartment and run a device. Use a program at a maximum temperature of 90-95 ° C. If there is an additional function of rinsing, then turn it on, if not, then after the completion of the washing program turn the machine on again to rinse mode.

After this procedure the elements in your washing machine will be like new. Repeat this procedure every six months on a regular basis, and you will not encounter with the problem of limescale.

How to clean a dishwasher?

  1. Turn off the power.
  2. Check the openings through which water flows into the wash chamber: If you find pollution that interferes with the free flow of water, then with tweezers gently remove it (do not push inward). If the hole is small, and you cannot remove the dirt with tweezers, take the wire and push it inside.
  3. Proceed to clean the ends of the door. At the junction of the door and the body dirt is usually accumulated. Later it rots and gives an unpleasant smell. Clean the door with a detergent and a sponge. Clean stubborn dirt with an old toothbrush.

Cleaning an AC

The procedure of cleaning is simple and you can do it by yourself. How often? It depends on the dustiness of your room. In general, start to clean once a month, if there is a lot of dirt on the filter, clean more often. We met conditioners in which the dust on the filters was not seen even after a year of operation. But it was rooms in which the air cleaner was worked.

  1. Take off the front panel.
  2. Remove the filter by lifting the lower part.
  3. Rinse the filter under running water, you can use the cleaners.
  4. If the air conditioner smells. Then while filters are drying, go to the drugstore and buy a liquid antiseptic or disinfectant solutions (alcohol-based).
  5. Open the cover of the AC, take off the dust mesh, turn-on the AC on the lowest temperature and maximum air flow mode and spray antiseptic so that the spray dragged into the cell / plate radiator coolant conditioner. It only takes a few minutes. After 10 minutes, the smell from the AC will disappear.
  6. After the filter is dry, only push it back. It is not recommended to run the AC without the filter because it protects not only your lungs, but also the heat exchanger of the indoor unit. If heat exchanger is dusty, the efficiency of AC falls.

Cleaning cooker and oven

These devices can be cleaned with household chemicals and with vinegar and soda.

Cleaning with chemicals

To make it easier to wash the oven, you need to first warm it up by setting a temperature of about 50 degrees, for 15-20 minutes. Remove the shelves, so you will not hurt. Do not forget to wear rubber gloves and open the window of the oven while processing chemicals. Chemical substances have pungent odor.

Spray contaminated lots and let the means to act, do not rub too soon. Typically, gels for oven operate for 30 minutes. So close it and forget for half an hour. After using the chemicals it is necessary to thoroughly wash the oven to remove the smell. Do not use the stove after cleaning for a few hours.

Using soda and vinegar

First, remove the crumbs and remnants of burnt food. This can be done with any of the old plastic cards or regular spoons. Mix vinegar with baking soda in the ratio 1:2, add a little dish detergent and water.

With a formed paste and a stiff brush or sponge wipe the oven walls. Instead of dishwashing detergent, you can take a piece of soap diluted in water (about 25 grams). With such a paste cover the walls of the oven and leave for a couple of hours.

If you sprinkle soda on the glass surface (of the cooker, for example) and leave it for 40 minutes, it will help remove the fat coating.

You can also wipe the ovens walls with vinegar and sprinkle with baking soda. In a reaction hydrogen is formed, which helps to remove fat from the surface. For greater efficiency you may add a citric acid to the soda and vinegar.
