Built-in kitchen appliances more often replace bulky stand-alone devices. This is logical and there are some reasons: the space saving, neatness, modernity, style. In this review we will focus on an important part of the kitchen interior – gas on glass hob.
Instead of a whole cooker, combined with oven, many owners prefer to get embedded devices – the hob and the oven installed separate from each other. And cooktops with autonomous control (independent) can be set arbitrarily far from the oven, which gives more freedom when planning the kitchen. Simple electric stoves with enamel surfaces and cast-iron “pancakes” had been replaced with elegant and easy to clean glass-ceramic panels. But what about gas? Manufacturers of gas stoves are also trying to keep up with the times, so cooking gas panels with glass-ceramic surfaces or heat-resistant tempered glass have become increasingly popular. There is no telling, that one of the options is better or more convenient. The main advantage of the glass-ceramic surface is low coefficient of thermal expansion. It does not really matter here, because the surface doesn’t heat up itself, and the burner located on top. The temperature of the panel remains almost unchanged.
“Gas on glass” panels are available in wide range of colors, look impressive and stylish, and keep their attractive appearance when proper operation. As the surfaces are made of a very durable material, they are resistant to temperature and mechanical stress. However, the maintenance and care of the glass surface is bit unusual. It is necessary to wash them immediately after the contamination occurrence. The surface is completely flat, so that the liquid does not stay on it, and the “runaway” soup need to “catch” very quickly. Otherwise it is necessary not only to scour the plate, but also floor, closet, refrigerator and everything else that will be near.
Another feature of washing plates and panels – divorces, which are always remain on glass. Fortunately, the chemical industry doesn’t sleep: there are plenty of chemicals which can easy clean stains without leaving any scratches on glass. Also glass-ceramic cooktops have another weakness – sugar. If the molten sugar (as well as syrup, jam or other hot concentrated “sweetness”) will get on surface, even after the removal of stains defects and bald spots may remain. So sugar liquids and melts must be removed as quickly as possible.

Advantages and limitations
The main advantage is gas usage. It is the cheapest fuel to date, so it suggests saving your money. It also doesn’t create a burden on the wiring. As we know, some people who bought electric cooktops were forced to change their home wiring. It implies additional monetary costs.
Risk of gas explosion can be attributed to the limitations. Gas is a dangerous fuel, but modern hobs are smart, and they can turn off the gas while flame extinguished.
